How We Work

Canine Generated Independence is a Not for Profit organisation, managed by a board of directors and trustees, all with various skills from dog training to health care, web design to business skills. Our management team have their own disabilities, many with qualified assistance dogs, and others with dogs in training.

Our qualified dog trainers, with years of experience of training assistance dogs, are on hand to provide members with force free, positive training. You will be partnered with a trainer that specialises in your category of training needs, to provide you with the best service.

Initial obedience assessments take place in Bristol in group sessions and once ready, Public Access assessments are scheduled. Your trainer stays on hand once you are qualified in case you have any additional training needs.

All our dogs are assessed and monitored continuously throughout their membership.
